Bullying: A Social Threat

Cutting words do cut a person; threatening acts do hurt a person; and witnessing such incidents may intimate the onlookers.

Bullying, one of the most common social problems that the world is facing today, but the resolutions are still left hanging. This problem needs a careful examination and attention, but so far, only a few had tried to take an action about this problem.

Bullying is an aggressive behavior that is repeated over time.  It includes actions such as teasing, spreading rumors, hurting someone physically or verbally, and attacking someone through the use of mobile phone or Internet, more commonly known as cyber bullying.
Over the years, bullying has never been taken seriously as other social and economical problems. It has something to do with how and where a child grows up. The recorded cases about bullying are quickly taking an upsurge especially on teenagers.

On the other hand, kids who are being bullied may feel like being different, weak and alone. They will develop a very low self-esteem that will give them a hard time speaking up. Victims of bullying are also afraid to stand for their rights because they assume that they are already powerless and can do nothing about it. Kids who are being bullied will also have the tendency to bully other people, too.

This issue isn't only about who bullies and who is being bullied. Children, who witness these situations most of the time don't know what to do and may feel worried about it. They remain silent towards the subject and they always feel unsafe wherever they go.

Many people and researchers say that sharing these things to an adult is the best way to resolve this problem about bullying.

Lastly, bullying isn't a part of memory that someone smiles and looks back to whenever someone's old.

Hurting and being hurt shouldn’t be a bit of someone as he grows. Life might be a mixture of sadness and happiness,  but, bullying is never said to be a part of it.

Everyone must be aware of this while it is still at its early stage. We should not wait for the time when everybody's a victim of it.
